About
I am Joatan Sampaio, a software engineer at Najaxa Software in Fargo, North Dakota. I design and build scalable backend systems with .NET — Akka.NET, Wolverine, Azure Functions — paired with TypeScript and Vue on the frontend. Recent work includes a highly modular data-import system and a state-compliant break-rules engine covering labor laws across all 50 US states.
Before Najaxa I worked full-stack at Pettys Consulting, tutored computer science at Century College, and started my career in Brazil building Java and Spring Boot applications — including a stint as a research engineer at CNPq studying biometric authentication based on keyboard typing dynamics.
I hold a B.S. in Computer Science from Metro State University and an Associate’s degree from Century College. Outside of work I build developer tools (like dotest, a Rust TUI for running .NET tests) and small experiments with neural networks and 3D graphics. I speak Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
